A fantastic Academic Manager will lead teaching and learning at IES Upplands Väsby

Emma Marshall

I’m glad to announce that a fantastic academic manager will lead teaching and learning at IES Upplands Väsby. Her name is Ms Emma Marshall and she will go the extra mile for our students.

Academic managers hold a key position in IES schools.  They plan with teachers to help students develop so they are able to achieve higher grades and work alongside the department heads to lead the teachers. They also manage the curriculum, grading at the school and the testing regime.

Ms Marshall has been working as Academic Manager at another IES school - IES Huddinge - for six years and will help to bring the IES ethos to our new school in Upplands Väsby.  She has 20 years experience in teaching and I am delighted to welcome her to the team.

A productive first week

A productive first week

After five fantastic days I'm now starting to feel like one of the IES family. This week I’ve been working with the IES recruitment team, who are helping me recruit the best possible team for IES Upplands Väsby. I have received a huge number of applications from staff who want to start working at our school. I can already see that IES Upplands Väsby will have a fantastic mix of staff from all over the world.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Principal Announcement

Principal Announcement

Dear all,

My name is Jonas Hård and as of March 2, I will be the principal of Internationella Engelska Skolan Upplands Väsby, which opens in August 2020. I’m truly proud to become part of the IES-team and look forward to opening a new bilingual quality school in Upplands Väsby.

I started my career as a mathematics and science teacher in Botkyrka and for the past 10 years, I’ve worked as a teacher and a principal in Vallentuna. My most recent assignment was as Head of Education in Vallentuna municipality.

My ambition is to make IES Upplands Väsby into a fantastic school for all students. I truly believe in IES’s ethos and that the start to all learning and reaching high academic achievements is a safe and calm learning environment.

I’m a principal who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of our students. Another passion of mine is football as I used to play for ÖSK football club. Nowadays, in my spare time, I stick to the sidelines as a football coach.

It is exciting to start building a strong team of passionate teachers and staff to join me in making IES Upplands Väsby fantastic, and I’m really looking forward to welcoming all excited students in August when school starts.

Best regards,
Jonas Hård
